HARDY WEAVER:
Hardy grew up doing theatre in the New Orleans community at theaters including Le Petit Theatre, Le Chat Noir, Tulane Summer Lyric, NORD, and Jefferson Performing Arts Society. During his time in the NOLA theatre community, he was nominated three times and won a Storer Boone award for his work in Honk!, choreographed by MDT's own Jaune Buisson. He attended the musical theatre program at the New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts during high school and then went on to Florida State University's renowned Bachelor of Fine Arts Music Theatre Program. The summer between high school and college, Hardy attended Ann Reinking's Broadway Theatre Project and worked with the Broadway legend, herself. Hardy then went on to work professionally at regional theaters every summer between his college years. By the end of his senior year of college, he booked two national tours-Footloose and Cats. He was a part of Footloose from May, 2008 to July, 2008 and then hopped over to begin Cats in August. Hardy just finished touring with Cats, playing the part of Skimbleshanks. In the past year, he has performed in over 30 states and 5 Canadian provinces. Hardy was fortunate enough to be directed and choreographed by members of the original Broadway company who dealt with the legendary choreography when it was first created. Hardy is now a faculty member in the Musical Theatre program at the New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts for their summer term and will be moving to New York in July.
